Falalalala Douche Bag

He came, he saw...he left with my friend's phone number?! Let me rewind three weeks to happier times. The last time I had a date with CD was on Nov 12. It was a pretty amazing day. We took the afternoon and went to Squaw Valley with the intention of riding the cable car up the mountain. He held my hand on the drive up. It was sweet. I was wearing black pants and fuzzy winter boots with a baby blue sweater. Very winter cute. The cable car ended up being closed. I was super disappointed as I was looking forward to a little romantic ride up the mountain. So we just walked around the village area and stopped and had lunch in a delightful pizza shop with some pretty fantastic pizza. We had plans later that night to watch the pay-per-view boxing match with his best friend here in town (who he said he wanted me to meet!). I took this as a good sign. The friend ended up having to watch his kids so he was out. CD asked if I had any friends who might be interested in watching the fights. Of course! So I let a couple friends know where we would be watching the fights. CD and I went to local casino to watch fights and he was very attentive, getting me drinks, sitting with his hand on my leg and when my friends showed up he was very social. After the fights we decided to head to another casino. We walked arm in arm, he gave me little smooches and was cuddly. He talked with my friends (two other couples). I was pretty happy. Definitely felt like a couple. At the end of the night he asked my friends when would we be getting together again. I took this as a good sign as well. He wanted to play some poker so I sat like a good little date and let him play until 2:30 a.m. when I could barely keep my eyes open. We went home after that. He asked if my friends liked him. He kissed me goodnight and cuddled. It apparently all when down hill after this unbeknownst to me...
You may remember from my last post, Happy Anniversary, that I did not see CD again after that fateful day. The first weekend after that I had asked if he wanted to have lunch and he said he was going to stay in his town and get some stuff done at the office. He sounded kind of stressed so I thought I would just leave him alone for the weekend, which I did. I called him the following Monday to ask how things were going. He texted me the next day to say he fell asleep early. I asked him to call me that night since we hadn't talked in awhile (meaning no voice conversations since Nov 12, only texts). He texted me that night to say he was going over contract stuff and he was stressed. I suggested that I would treat him to dinner that weekend since he had been so stressed and he said no because his brother and sister in law would be in town for the holiday, but maybe next week. He said he would call the next night (the day before Thanksgiving). That night he texted to say he was at his moms and I should call when I'm off work the next day (Thanksgiving). So I did...we actually talked! He said he had been pretty stressed out and told me about what was going on in his life. His brother and sister in law ended up not coming into town. I told him I could tell he had been stressed since we hadn't spoken and he said he hadn't felt like talking to anyone. I was headed to a friend's house for dinner and he told me to tell them hi and to call on my way home if I wanted. I did call and we talked for just a bit. The next day I was cooking dinner for friends and I texted him to see if he wanted to come by and he said thanks, but he was at his mom's. I decided I was done asking him to do things. He texted me Tuesday night (the day of my last blog). Talked a little and he said he would be at my ugly sweater party and he was still planning to bring a friend (which he had asked about weeks ago). Yay!

Ugly Sweater Party Day...Dec 3. I love throwing parties. They are so much fun. I was excited. I was even excited to see him...but then as the party loomed I started to kind of be like, how do I even act? I haven't seen him in three weeks. How is he going to act? People started arriving around 6:30 and he texted me around 7:15 to say he'd be right there. I was opening a bottle of wine by the refrigerator when he walked in. I felt awkward honestly. He came over and gave me a big hug and kind of rocked back and forth a little, it lasted like 10 seconds - which is kind of long for a hug really. Anyway he introduced me to his friend. I told them to grab plates and what did they want to drink. CD told friend I was an awesome cook. Made CD a drink and had a little bit of small talk. CD is very outgoing and social so he started talking to other people at the party, saying hello to the friends he had met before. I was being a hostess and milling about as well. At one point CD, his friend and a friend of mine (who I know through my sister and haven't seen in several months) were all talking so I went to join in. CD gave me another one armed hug and we had our only real conversation of the night that lasted maybe seven minutes. He said he had actually met my friend at a Halloween party. The rest of the night CD gravitated toward my friend and spent the night in conversation with her.

It was time to start the games so I was able to distract myself with that even thought I could see them talking the entire time out of the corner of my eye. At one point though he did ask when it was my turn - my response "I already went." He then tried to fumble some excuse for why he didn't see it. Oh maybe because you're more interested in talking to my friend than talking to me? There were five games. At one point one of my friends asked how I was doing. My response was I wanted to kick him in the face and she said she knows...she had seen what was going on as well. I had prizes for the top three winners, well there were five that were tied so we were going to have to have a run off. I was beginning to explain this when I saw out of the corner of my eye CD and my friend exchanging numbers. It was at that point that I couldn't even finish my sentence I was so distracted and my brain just blanked...I turned around and walked out the front door. I had to get out of the house or I would have made a scene. A good party hostess does not make a scene, yet I just walked out of my own party mid sentence. I walked down the street willing the tears that were springing to my eyes to go away. I took some deep breaths. I heard my front door open and someone drive away.

Another friend came outside at that point and I asked who had just left, it had been my sister's friend who CD had been talking to. I asked if she had seen what had went down and she said she did and volunteered to call friend and ask what happened and then ask CD to leave. I went back inside and was just so disoriented. CD was sitting on the couch. I didn't even know what to do. I couldn't find my phone. My friend had it and asked if she could talk to me upstairs. I grabbed a couple chocolate covered strawberry jello shots (try them - they're fantastic) and followed. I was so distracted I have no idea what my guests were doing - I was not being a good hostess at this point, but I couldn't even think straight. CD followed and was like, hey Aimee I think we're going to leave. We have a bday party to go to at a casino. I said ok. I don't even know really what he said after that, I just nodded. He then said he got my friend's number for his friend (who was there at the party!!). Um okay. You know if you are almost 40 years old and can't ask for a girls phone number then you don't deserve it. He gave me a little hug and said he would call me tomorrow. Said he left $20 on my nightstand for food.

I headed into my room and sat on my bed, took a jello shot while my friend told me that she had called my friend who left and that she had no idea I was dating CD and that she had met him at a halloween party where he seemed to be kind of playerish. My friend who left texted me and said she had just talked to my friend and she had no idea, but she thinks it was all innocent that he was really just getting her number for his friend. She said she would never want to hurt me. I told her thank you. She then texted me to say CD had just called her!! What? He called her as soon as he left the party? I thought he got the number for his friend, so why would he call her as soon as he left party? That is not innocent. My friend said she told him it was inappropriate and completely disrespectful and told him not to call her and to man up and quit being a tool.

So in true dating form I sat on my bed with little tears streaming down my face and empty jello shots in my hand with three of my girlfriends around me saying all the right things. I didn't know what to do. I had a party going on downstairs...I couldn't go back down. There was no way to hide what had been going on. I am not a pretty crier. My eyes get puffy and red. Not pretty. Luckily my wonderful friends took care of it. I am quite embarrassed thinking about it now. So not a good hostess moment!

I admit I had a pity party for myself on Sunday. I didn't feel like doing a damn thing and couldn't really wrap my head around the fact that this has happened to me again...another failed attempt at a relationship. Why?! Not surprisingly CD did not call that day. I wouldn't have talked to him anyway. No intentions of ever speaking to him again. Then I got a text last night..."Aimee I'm apologizing for the misunderstanding. I thought we were clear on how I was not wanting to date now due to all of the things going on in my life right now. I thought I was honest and clear. Apparently I was not. I was honest and told you about getting your friend's # for my friend who is too shy to ask. I am not dating right now. I thought I was coming to the party as a friend not as anything more. It meant a lot to u so I wanted to attend. I'm sorry about the misunderstanding and any hurt feelings it may have caused." Um whoa, what?! I was fuming mad. My response "You never once said you didn't want to date me. In fact the last time I saw you three weeks ago you spent the night. How was that being honest with me? Over the next three weeks you were too busy to see me - you didn't say anything about not wanting to date. I'm an adult CD you should've just told me straight up rather than making me look like a fool." His response "We have a difference in what happened. 3 weeks ago? That is a long time. I thought we were on the same page regardless of whether I spent the night 3 weeks ago. Sorry u felt like that but either way I didn't do anything." That response hurt me bad. How can he think he didn't do anything wrong? When did he say he didn't want to go out with me? Never. Did he really think I would want him at my party if he had told me he didn't want to date me? I decided I would not respond to that text because I knew no matter what I said he would turn it around and make me out to the be the crazy one because that is how men justify what they do...by saying women are crazy. He clearly is delusional. He texted again about 10 minutes later "I don't think anything I can say will help. I can just say sorry and there was never any poor intentions only miscommunication." WTF. Miscommunication?! There was no communication at all about this. I am not being the crazy one. I would have remembered a "I don't have time to date" conversation!! So I drank some more wine and shed a few more tears last night for the complete and utter lack of respect he gave me. Just flabbergasted really. It's not even the phone number issue it is really the fact that he was so disrespectful to think that he had been honest with me about not wanting to date.

What is crazy is that the six weeks I did date him were amazing...no red flags, nothing. He was always talking about things we could do together and then on the last day I saw him asking my friends when we were going to hang out again. So no I wasn't on the same page with you. You were not honest or clear. You told me you were stressed out and busy so I took that at face value because of how great the previous six weeks had been. I'm not that sad about losing him as I kind of had already started to detach my feelings over the last three weeks. I think that is kind of natural when you don't see someone or even really talk to them. What I am sad about is the fact this is just another douche bag in a long line of douche baggery that keeps happening to me. I am truly tired of it. I am a good person. I did not read his signals wrong. Everything was pointing toward a relationship when he got stressed out. I was trying to be supportive of him. Wow, how did he really think he was clear with me?

I will be sad this week, but I know that time heals all wounds and I will get over this soon. I promise to try not and think all men are jerks...just 99% of them.

Keep thinking happy thoughts for me. Until next time...

Happy Anniversary!

Well my one year blogging anniversary that is...November 12, 2010. I suppose I am a bit late wishing myself a happy anniversary, but a lot has been going on. In my first post I mentioned the People cover magazine with Kim Kardashian quote saying she thought she would be married by now (age 30). Well Kim accomplished getting married AND filing for divorce in a year. I haven't even successfully found a boyfriend in a year. Ironically November 12, 2011 (one year after my first blog post) is also the last day I saw CD. If you need any help...that was 17 days ago...and we have had one telephone conversation in those 17 days. I'm in limbo. I was feeling like a couple. I don't feel that way anymore. My delusional romantic side (yes I think I have a romantic side!) wants to believe he is just going through a stressful time and all with go back to normal post stressful event. My realistic bitter single girl side knows better. I am waiting to reserve judgment until the end of this week. After tragedy has hit my home town it really puts life into perspective. Life is precious and can be cut short at a moments notice. It has really made me think that I don't want to waste time on someone who might just not be that into me. I don't want to hang onto something that will never be and if it is to be over I just want to know so I can move on...I'm in limbo.

I had six great weeks with someone I thought was pretty fantastic, I can appreciate that...maybe. I am having an Ugly Sweater Party this weekend and a couple weeks ago CD said he would be there. If he is, I will be thrilled. If he is not...I may drink a little too much. Don't judge.

Last week was Thanksgiving. It is one day a year that we remember to be thankful. I ask that we take everyday to remember to be thankful.

More blogging to come post Ugly Sweater Party festivities.

Keep thinking happy dating thoughts. Until next time...

Odontophobia

I apologize for taking such a long break from blogging, but fear not my little readers...I have much to tell! So settle yourself in for a long one here. I did not leave you much hope for my dating life in the last blog, hell I didn't even feel much hope for myself. I had a planned trip to visit my lovely sisters in South Carolina for a week beginning Sept 17th. The week before the trip I decided to give one last ditch effort to online dating. Since I had bought a three month membership sometime in June I knew I only had a few weeks left. I thought I would do a little browsing and if there was someone on there that interested me I would bite the bullet, unhide my profile and send a wink and give it one week. Well, there was one profile. I winked. He ignored it. I thought I'd give it a few more days and of course, because I am super fabulous, received emails and winks from others on the site. None of them interested me...except one. His profile was interesting enough, yet didn't tout his achievements nor did he state how much he loved all outdoor activities and wanted to find a girl who loved being outside and dirty, but could also be just as comfortable all dressed up. I hate those men. I believe there are only like 2% of the female population that is actually like that - me not being one of them. He had only two pictures and he appeared to not be hideous. He lived about 25 miles away, no children and has a job. Well he meets my standards. His job - dentist. This actually was not initially a yippee moment for me. I wondered if he was going to be a cocky bastard, would he judge me based on my slightly imperfect teeth? I have an irrational fear of going to the dentist. I sit with my hands clenched and my eyes squinted shut during the entire ordeal in the dentist chair. On the other hand, he was Catholic. Catholic Dentist...hmmm. I decided to wink back to see what would happen. I received an email and it was funny. We exchanged several get to know you messages before I left for my trip. I eventually gave him my number while I was in South Carolina and he texted me to see how my visit was going. We made plans to meet the day of my return since I would be getting home at the reasonable hour of 5:30. A few days before I was to return home I started to feel a sore throat coming on. I took naps. I thought I would be getting a cold any minute since I always tend to get sore throats before a cold. I did not let my slightly under the weather condition affect my good times with my sisters and as always it was so great to spend time with them. I left for home on Sept 27th, popped a couple of DayQuil and actually looked forward to my prospective date that night. I texted him at my Chicago layover to confirm plans...I even dared to get a little excited, which I think thwarted off my sickness a bit. I landed. I waited for my luggage. I waited some more. It never arrived! How the hell am I supposed to get ready for a date if I have no makeup?! No hair products?! No clothes?! Okay I probably could have found something in my closet to wear. I texted Catholic Dentist to apprise him of the situation and told him I needed to reschedule. I don't think he believed me. We decided to meet up the next day after football. On Sunday I literally laid around all day. I was not feeling great. My throat hurt, but I was going to rally. Then I got a text from him around 4:30 saying he wasn't feeling good - ate some bad food. We decided to just reschedule for the next Friday, Sept 30th. I found out the next day I had strep throat. Awesome. I also ended up with a cold. Super awesome.

Catholic Dentist and I stayed in touch throughout the week. I consulted with my coworkers on what I should wear/style my hair. The last few dates I have gone on I have curled my hair and it has turned into nothing. Coincidence? Probably, but they like my hair straight and suggested I straighten it since I would be wearing an outfit that might look overdone with curled hair.

Friday night finally arrives and we are going to my favorite sushi place. I am nearly ready when a friend texts me to say that she and her fiance are down at said sushi spot if I want to join them. I literally laughed and said that I was meeting a date there in 20 minutes! oh no, what if we are seated near them, I won't be able to be myself - I know they would be watching, I would be! We decide to just play it by ear on whether we acknowledge each other or not. So with a bit of extra nerves I am putting on my necklace and earrings. I go to grab my black chunky ring and it is broken! Agh. But then I remember seeing my sister's snake ring in my downstairs bathroom. I will wear that! If anything maybe I can pull a little bit of my sister's flirtiness from the ring! My outfit is complete. I am wearing a new pair of Lucky brand jeans that I got in a much smaller size when I was in South Carolina, a black and gray leopard print tank with a gray three-quarter sleeve cardigan and my black Steve Madden heels. I have on dangly black earrings, long black necklace, snake ring with straightened hair and a modest smokey eye. I feel like I look good even thought I am probably functioning at around 90% due to my sickness and have a lovely dry hacky cough.

I make the five minute drive to the restaurant chanting my mantra, SCW, almost the entire way. I park and I see him walking into restaurant. He has on a gray long sleeved button down shirt, jeans and one of those cabbie hats, gray. We match. I walk towards the front door and I see my friend and her fiance sitting at a table near the window, I gave a quick wave. Nervous. I open the door and he is standing there talking to hostess. He says hi and that there is a 15 minute wait or so. We will wait at the bar. He gives me a little hug. He has a goatee, which he didn't have in his pictures. I like it. We sit at bar. My mouth is dry. I don't know what to say. He's cute. I'm nervous. He's 6'2" with broad shoulders and no butt. Oh no our kids would have the worst butts on the playground! He is friendly and I'm trying to put together a coherent sentence without sputtering over my words. I need a drink STAT! I try and occupy myself by looking at drink list. They do not have my standard chardonnay order. They have a really good one - Rombauer
, but it is $14 a glass. I order that one. That's right I am the bitch who orders the most expensive wine on the menu. I will only have one...maybe. We get our drinks and after we are seated at the table I start to relax a bit. He is very friendly and we have an easy conversation over our fabulous sushi. We are at the restaurant about 2.5 hours. We are getting to know each other and so far I'm enjoying this a lot. He's 37, from the area, but only recently moved back one month ago. He has been a dentist since 2007 and is in the process of buying a practice. We are getting along great and seem to have a lot in common. He asked if I wanted to continue the date after he paid for the check (which could not have been cheap since I did end up getting another glass of wine :-). Of course! We decided to head up the street just a bit to a sports bar that has pool. We get a drink at the bar and head over to the pool tables, which are occupied, but being the friendly guy that he is, Catholic Dentist talks to them and we decide to play in teams. The people we are playing against are a woman, in her 50's, her ex-husband and their 20 something year old son. She is quite chatty. She asks how long we have been together...haha, its our first date. She says we look good together. I think so too. She tells him, "She's gorgeous," and his response was, "and she's smart." My heart smiled. We played two games and had quite a good time. He is talkative and not even remotely cocky, pompous or any of those other conceited words I was worried about. He seems genuine. He touches me when he talks, but it is in such a casual manner that you know that is just his mannerism, its not creepy and I'm surprisingly okay with it. After two games of pool we grab a table and talk until 1 a.m. This has been a six hour date! We decide to head out. Instead of him driving the 30 minutes home he is staying with his good friend who lives not far from me. He gave me a good long full body hug, probably 30 seconds worth. I think I would have kissed him! I don't usually feel comfortable enough to kiss on a first date. It didn't happen though. He said he would call me the next day. I drove home with a smile on my face. I'm excited about this guy! Yay!! But did he feel the same...I got a text message after I had climbed into bed that said "What a great night. Cheers to many more. Sleep well." I swoon. He did have a good time!!

I heard from him the next day just like he said! It's a miracle. He is going to a movie with his mom and asks if I want to watch the Niners game the next day at a sports bar. Whoo hoo! Of course I do! The next morning I wasn't feeling the best and the idea of going to a sports bar didn't appeal to me so I suggested I make brunch and he come over for the game. This way I will be more comfortable at home and be able to show off my cooking prowess. I am sporty cute in my denim capris and pink 49ers jersey. I curled my hair and pulled my bangs back. He came over around 10:30 and I was making a fritatta. We had mimosas while I cooked. He said he told his mom about me and that I was worth the $30 something the one month membership to online dating cost him. He makes me smile :) My fritatta is a big success, even though I slightly burned the bottom. He was very impressed. Watched the game sitting on the couch, talked and I think overall just had another good get to know you session. Then he curled up and fell asleep for almost two hours. He woke up and said his throat felt scratchy. Uh oh. There is no way I could have given this to him?! We shared a cue stick Friday night - that was it. I was on antibiotics, no way I'm contagious. He ended up leaving close to 5, another very long date. He hugged me. No kiss. I was confused. I thought we had a good time and it was a second date, totally appropriate for a kiss. Well no. Is it because my hair was curled? I of course start thinking it is me because that is how us women think. The next day he texted me to say he was sick. I felt bad. He asked me to call him when I got home from work. When I talked to him that night he asked if I wanted to do dinner and movie for Friday. He does like me! I am very optimistic about Catholic Dentist at this point. We talked or texted every day that week.

Friday night arrives. I'm a little giddy. I decide to wear black tight pants with my knee high boots and a v-neck splatter paint appearing shirt. I curled my hair - I can't control myself haha. We went to BJs restaurant and ordered their date night special, which was a pizza, two soups or salads and two movie tickets. Only $39, such a deal. The waitress actually put the check in front of me. So I decided to pay. Catholic Dentist put up a fuss, but I did it anyway and this scored points. He was impressed. We again had a great dinner conversation. Definitely starting to like this guy. We go see a movie he picked because he had been sick this week. So we saw Real Steel. Real dumb in my opinion BUT he held my hand during the movie or had his hand on my knee. All good signs. No goodnight kiss though! The next day he had friends and his brother and sister in law coming into town for a football game and then Sunday he would be flying to Vegas for a dental conference the next week and would be returning home on Wednesday. I did hear from him the next day and when he was at the airport. Then I don't hear from him for two days. I admit little paranoid Aimee is starting to peak her head out of the box. I'm never going to hear from him again is what I'm thinking, why? because that is what always happens to me! I'm trying really hard not to be paranoid. I know he liked me and we were having a good time. My friend tried to reassure me that he was just busy at the conference and it would be reasonable for me to contact him at this point. I figured I would call him Wednesday when I figured he was on his way home (he was driving). I called him Wednesday after my dentist appointment (good God I hate going there) and left him a message. He texted me right back and said that he was still in the conference and would be leaving that afternoon. I got a few texts from him on his drive home and he said he left later than planned and he wouldn't be home until 11, too late to call since I would be well on my way to dreamland by then. The following day I was having some delightful wine and food with a friend and I had not heard from Catholic Dentist that day. I knew that I definitely wanted to see him that weekend if I could, although I would be out of town Saturday night heading down to Sacramento to see my dad and pick up Lola who had spent an extensive vacation with grandma and grandpa. So empowered by my wine I went ahead and texted CD to ask if he would like to do something the next night since I would be out of town Saturday. He said yes! Huge relief rushed over me and I was giddy again like a little school girl. This is kind of pathetic. For those of you who know me, know that I am not one of those girls. He didn't feel like going out since he had such a crazy weekend/week before with friends and Vegas. So I suggested I would make dinner. I would make lasagna - his favorite. I am bound to score some points with this, right?!

The next night I of course dressed cute with jeans and knee high boots and a gray/white striped shirt with straightened hair! I was just finishing the layering of the lasagna when he came over. I was so excited to see him. He is just so easy to be around. We were talking about what my dentist had said on Wednesday and he suggested I just see him for dental work. I don't know if I'm ready for that! He called his assistant to ask if they took my insurance and I heard him say "Yeah she just put the lasagna in the oven." The office knows about me! This is a good sign. We talk and have an adult beverage while the lasagna is in the oven. Dinner ready - more points for me! He loves it! And finally in the kitchen upon pouring another drink...he kisses me! Sweet kisses. Hello butterflies. I like him.

So instead of giving you all the boring details of our next dates I will just give a synopsis. We met that Sunday for more football watching at a sports bar after I had gotten back from Sacramento and he was done with golf. He's so cute. I like him more. Kisses. Following Friday he hears from a friend who wants to treat us to dinner at one of the local casinos. We park at the casino, but go to a movie first...we held hands as we walked the few blocks to the theater. Ahhhh I like him. We had a comped dinner after movie courtesy of his friend and then met his friend at the casino bar. CD stood with his arm around me while talking to his friend. He told his friend that we work because he is such an outgoing guy and I am more of an introvert. He later told his friend that I was pretty awesome and he was a lucky guy. It was at that point that I felt a little piece of my wall fall down. I didn't realize I had been holding back, but clearly I had. I am so afraid of liking a guy and him disappearing because that truly seems to be my history here in Reno.

Last week I went to see his place for the first time and saw his dental office. We ordered a pizza and watched a movie. I think we are going to have a good time no matter what we do. So far just enjoying being around him and letting this develop at its own pace. Now that I have met someone I like and who likes me back I am just finally enjoying this. I don't want to put pressure on the situation and thinking, where is this going?? and all that because I know eventually this will go the direction it is supposed to go, whether that is a relationship or down the drain. My hope is relationship. I see myself with this guy, but I really am in no hurry either. We talk or text daily at this point. This Friday will be five weeks since the day we met. Are we officially a couple, no...but I am really optimistic about this one. I'm happy. I always thought of myself as a happy person, just with a really jaded bitter side when it came to dating. I don't want to be that girl. I want to be the happy girl who looks at everything throughout the day with a smile rather than a scowl. Will it happen...only time will tell. Trying not to be afraid of the dentist breaking my heart...

Keep thinking happy dating thoughts...

“People go to casinos for the same reason they go on blind dates - hoping to hit the jackpot. But mostly, you just wind up broke or alone in a bar.”

Hello my little readers! Well it is a Friday night and you of course know what I'm doing...I've had my sushi and my wine. I've watched a truly disturbing true movie about a young Australian woman who kills her teen neighbor, so now that I'm adequately depressed I thought it was time to blog and update you all! I left you with the prospect of my blind date coming up. This is my first true blind date in 10 years. Shall we have a little flash back...yes lets. My first blind date was when I was 22, it was not long after 9/11 and it was after my first true heartbreak. I had recently broken up with the man I thought I was going to marry, well he broke up with me, and I had a coworker who had a young man she wanted to set me up with. What is so funny is I still remember exactly what I was wearing. We met at one of the local breweries and I wore a long denim skirt (which I still own I might add, but probably haven't worn since that date) and a maroon long sleeve shirt I got at GAP and brown sandals that I bought shopping with stupid ex-boyfriend. Wow my memory is super awesome. We had a couple drinks and I remember thinking he was kind of cute, but we pretty much clashed on everything we talked about. I didn't really see any sort of dating future with him, but I gave him my card anyway (I had cards - one of my perks as a probation officer). He did end up calling me, but we never went out again. I told him I was really busy. Okay slightly bitchy I agree. So now you are updated on my one other blind date experience...

Last Friday night was my second true blind date. I of course had nothing to wear! We were to meet at one of our local breweries for an early drink. I knew that I would wear denim capris, but I really needed a new cute date shirt. As you remember my last date I was unable to find something so I decided to go shopping again...I found nothing! What is with the new styles?? Why is nothing appealing to me? So of course I find nothing, well I can't say nothing, I did buy three new pairs of shoes. BUT I needed them! I bought a pair of new tennis shoes, a pair of shoes to go with my super cute yellow dress I would be wearing the next night to my friend's engagement party and a pair of wedges that were 30% off. So as a last resort I just decided to wear the same shirt I wore on my date with LDP. I realize this may not have been a smart choice since I never went out with LDP again, but I really had no other choice. So I had on that cute white tank with the embroidery, my denim capris and my super awesome new wedges that probably made me 5'10." I can wear these shoes because all I really know about Blind Date is that he is 6'3" and bald. I should be able to spot him in a crowd. So I get ready and I am super nervous. I have no idea what to expect. This could be the man of my dreams. I say a whole lot of SCW to myself and hop in the car. I look cute. I got my hair done the day before and I am much more blond. Blonds have more fun, right? We'll see.

I pull into the parking lot, maybe a few minutes late. I will never ever be on time. Geez. I see him sitting in front of the brewery reading a News and Review. I'm instantly more nervous. I park and give myself a once over in the rear view movie, nothing in my teeth, no mascara smeared under my eyes, one more SCW and get out of the car. I approach and he is standing at that point. He is looking at me, like maybe this is her...so I smile and say hi. He introduces himself and we shake hands. He is tall and bald. My shoes are awesome. He has on jeans and a very nice blue striped button down shirt. We enter the restaurant and because the bar is pretty full we end up getting a table. We sit down and order drinks...me - wine, him - stout. He has very straight white teeth. I'm tempted to ask how he does it, but I refrain. So we do the typical get to know you questions. He writes computer codes of some sort and I asked how long he has been doing that. He says since 1988. I about choke on my tasty glass of wine. I was 9 in 1988. How old is this man? I'm thinking he must be 45 if he has been working since 1988, he doesn't look 45, but then again men age so much better than us women (we're screwed). He says he is 42, which okay that is about my cut off - 10 years older than me. I want a man to be closer to my age than my parents and my parents are 52. We finish our first drink. We are having some laughs, but its becoming kind of evident to me that we are two very different people. We decide to go ahead and order some food, it is dinner time, so we agree on a pizza to split. It was a veggie pizza with garlic and onions haha. No first date kiss for us. Wow when was my last first date kiss...oh God my life is sad. Anyway we order another round of drinks with our pizza. We chat some more and he is very evidently nice and super duper smart. He is thinking of getting his Ph.D and has taken a couple of classes for it. I feel slightly inadequate with my two bachelor degrees. I pretty much turn off my smartness when I'm not at work. We get our pizza and drinks and continue conversation, we have some silent moments, and I am kind of wondering how much we have in common. I feel friendly vibes toward him. Butterflies - zero :( We end the date after about 2.5 hours. He said he would love to do it again and gave me a hug. Yeah I've heard that before! So we'll see is what I'm thinking. I didn't feel a spark with him, but he was very nice and I am tempted to give it another shot because you never know, right? I wasn't excited when I left the date and that disappoints me. I want to be excited about someone. Looking back I know that I have been excited about people...LDP to be the most recent (asshole). I did get a text from Blind Date guy today asking if I wanted to meet for lunch since he was out running errands. I was at a friends' pool so it wasn't really possible and I texted him back, but got no response. Plus is it really a date if it is just a spur of the moment thing? That seems more like something you would do if you were steadily dating someone. Oh well. I'll keep you posted if there is a second date.

In other dating news...I have not heard from Book!!! I am just surprised by this. I don't even know what to think. He is the one that pursued me in wanting a date! Obviously I am a bad date even with people who know me. This does not do good things for my self esteem. I want to say something to him, but I don't know what. It has been two weeks. He said he was ready for a relationship. Obviously not with me. Jerk.

I talked with a friend today, someone who I actually dated nine years ago. Wow that seems like forever. We have remained good friends and he asked if I was settled down yet. I said no and his response was "WTF is going on." Why is it my friends see how fabulous I am, but the men I go on dates with don't? Clearly I need to work on this. I will continue to work on showing my fabulousness off to strangers.

Keep thinking happy dating thoughts. Until next time...

Take me out to the ballgame...

Picture A

Chapter one...will also now be known as first date with Book. I heard from Book a few days after what I can only refer to now as the night I got drunk and kissed a friend. He texted me Tuesday night to see if I wanted to get a drink. I am pretty much nonfunctional on most days I work. On this particular day I had worked 12 hours and been up since 4:30 a.m. I felt no motivation whatsoever to try and make myself presentable and basically told him this. I did however suggest we go to a baseball game in a couple weeks. I figured this would be a fun, nontraditional, low key no pressure kind of get together. I wanted to see if I did feel anything for him without feeling like it was a "date." He agreed and said he actually had some open tickets for a game. It was a date...maybe. Over the next 12 days I did hear from him a few times. My sister was in town visiting and doing an engagement photo shoot. He offered to cook my sister and I dinner. That was nice of him, but nope not even remotely ready for that. A few days before the game he asked if I wanted to get lunch first. Hell no I want a hot dog at the ballpark!! Ok I didn't exactly say that, but really one of the best things about going to a game is getting to eat things that you wouldn't normally eat...hence the hot dog. We decided to just meet an hour before the game and grab a drink. There is this really cool area attached to the ballpark that has bars, restaurants and a band. I was actually starting to look forward to the game...or was I looking forward to seeing him hmmmm. Sunday (August 21st) rolled around and I got up and exercised (yay me finally broke the 20 pound weight loss hurdle) and got ready for the game. It was to be 92 degrees that day so I had to dress accordingly.  I previously had bought an Aces shirt (our minor league team) and had sassed it up a bit. It was a men's t-shirt that I got on clearance so I made some cuts and ties and voila I had a cute fitted girlie tee. I wore this with a white tank underneath, denim shorts (that I bought the day before in a smaller size!) and flip flops. I decided to wear my hair up because it was going to be so hot and I didn't think sweating with my hair down would be cute. So I tried to make my hair somewhat fun by french braiding my bangs back and pulling it into a pony tail. I think I looked fun and fabulous. I mean really who wouldn't want to go to a baseball game with me...as evidenced in picture A. So I met Book at the park, hugged and we headed inside. We grabbed a drink, sat at the bar and watched all the people enter the park. They were giving away baseballs to everyone under the age of 12 to have autographed after the game. I didn't know it was for under 12 so when I went to get my ball the girl said it was for 12 and under. Why did she just assume I was over age 12? Anyway being around Book is easy, probably because I already know him. I feel like I am myself around him because he already knows what myself is like. I didn't feel any pressure to impress, which was actually quite refreshing. Conversation is easy, he's chatty, the hour goes by quickly and we head to the outfield open seating. We sit on the grass and proceed to bake in the sun for the next hour. Real happy I wore my hair up and put on lots of sunscreen. Now that I am glowing with sweat I am ready for a hot dog. It was rather tasty. While putting condiments on our dogs someone walks by quickly and very clearly bumps into Book. He is irritated and says "Hey" to the guy. Turns out it is someone Book knows and works with and knew it would piss him off to bump into him like that. I think Book is easily annoyed by people who appear to threaten his space or manhood...I might have to watch this. We enjoy the rest of the game. We might even flirt a bit. The game is actually rather short at a mere 2.5 hours so we decided to just stick around at the adjacent bar for awhile.

We sit at the bar and order a drink. I order something fruity and refreshing. That was my actual order. It was fruity and I felt refreshed. I ordered another. We sat there for almost two hours. It was fun. He was becoming affectionate, doing the typical things a guy would do on a date if he liked the girl. If anyone knows me they know I am not the most affectionate warm person and in public I certainly shy away from affection. He eventually just asked what I was feeling about this, was this a date? I have been contemplating this all day in my head, but in the end I think I am over thinking the situation. Why not just enjoy it, why not just date and see if any real feelings develop. He told me that no matter what we would stay friends (cause that always works) but that he thinks I'm pretty great. I told him I am willing to see where this goes, so yes it is a date. Then he kissed me. Aaaahhh in the middle of the bar. What is my problem. So we parted ways around 6, we had spent six hours together, kissed him goodbye and I guess I just assume I will see him again. We didn't make any specific plans. Did I have a good time? yes. Did I have butterflies? no. Will they develop? maybe. As much as we have in common we actually have very different personalities. I like to look at the good in the world/situations/people and he tends to look at the negative - might be his job, might be the way he was raised. We will see how this works for us. On the other hand we laughed a lot and I did have a good time. As the first chapter closes I am still wanting to see what happens in chapter two...

In other dating news - I have a blind date on Friday with my coworkers running friend! I will be a strong, confident woman. Promise.

Keep thinking happy dating thoughts for me. Until next time...

Sometimes I judge a book by its cover...

You know the ones that catch my eye have lots of colors that may be in pink and yellows, maybe even a red. Not to thick or too thin, but just right. I read the back cover and I then certainly judge it. Do I want to invest my time in reading this entire book based on a couple paragraphs? This is exactly what we do with people. This past week I was told not to judge a book by its cover. I will explain.

Last Saturday I again found myself having to entertain myself on a weekend. Nothing new. As some of you may know UFC fights are fantastic and I enjoy them greatly. I mean really who does not enjoy strong, big-bicepped men hitting each other? Well I do that is for sure. A couple of my friends were unavailable so I ventured out to a local casino to watch it myself. I dressed nice casual in a royal blue tank top that had a ruffled scoop neckline, denim capris and black patent leather wedges. It was evening so I did a little smokey eye and curled my hair. For this particular casino you can pay a $10 fee to get into the large viewing room where there is a huge screen that airs the fights...with the $10 you also get tickets for five free drinks. Really its a win/win situation. Generally this room is packed. Tonight it was not. In fact it was quite sparse. People must be out enjoying the summer. I got myself in line to get a couple of drinks. When I stepped up to the bar the bartender slightly leered at me with a big grin on his face and said "Well hello, you are looking very pretty tonight." This gentleman looked like an old biker. Long gray hair in a pony tail, poochy belly with a leather vest. I thanked him and ordered my drinks. He told me I could have whatever I wanted. He then proceeded to pour a generous amount of rum into my glass and tell me I was so pretty I could get away with murder. If only. I tipped him $5. I went and found a seat in a row of about 8. I sat third seat from the left and there was a man sitting at the end of the row. Watched a few fights when a man, with a woman standing beside him, asked if I was saving these seats. I said no. They proceeded to sit right next to me. I'm confused. There are many open seats without having to sit directly next to someone. So I am sitting right next to this couple. I can clearly hear their conversations and it is evident they are on a date! WTF. Why did they have to sit next to me. Single me. I am guessing it is a second date situation because he was still asking her "get to know you" questions and there was no touching that indicated they were a long term couple. I almost thought I should move down a seat, but would that have been rude? I'm guessing they were around my age. She was sitting up straight - I recognized the posture. The "I'm going to sit up as straight as possible so he can't see my fat rolls" posture. She was cute, he was not what I would consider cute, but I suppose he wasn't hideous. I could easily have reached over and pushed her out of the chair and made it a date of me and him. Then he gets a phone call and tells whoever is on the phone to come on down the main fight is about to start. Whoa dude. Don't you know you should not bring a friend on a date! Run lady run! So this friend shows up...I admit I was slightly hoping for some hot guy so I could make polite conversation. He was not. He proceeds to come down the aisle and sit in the chair next to me. Um awkward. He says hello to the guy. Clearly he doesn't know the girl. I mention I can move. The man to my left says, oh no that's okay...unless you are expecting someone. No I'm not. I'm single and fabulous and I do things alone. Okay I didn't really say that. Fights ended early around 9 and I did not feel like going home quite yet. I rarely go out and the fact that I was out and not ready to go home was monumental.

I had texted my friend the day before to see if he would be watching UFC fights. He responded with that he was supposed to have date, but it hadn't been confirmed yet. I decided to text him and see if he was out or if he was on a date. He said the date had gotten rescheduled and he was at home. Ahh crap. Guess I will just have to go home too. He then said he was meeting his friends out later to go to a club, but he could meet me for a drink in about 30 minutes. So we decided to meet at one of the bars in another casino. I was there by myself for about 20 minutes with a drink. No one spoke to me. My friend arrived and gave him a hug. I am going to call this friend Book, because it is so easy to judge him based on his cover. I will stop now to tell you a bit about Book. I first met him about eights months ago. The first thing I noticed? His ahhhmazing biceps. He has tattoos, muscles, he's Mexican and not tall. He has confidence and can absolutely come off as a jerk. He's silly and politically incorrect. I am sure it is most people's judgment to say douche bag and walk on. We have hung out a handful of times and he has never been a jerk to me and is actually quite complimentary and nice. How did I meet Book? He is T-pilots friend...I just heard a collective hmmmm go around. So our conversation begins with our recent dates. Mine obviously being the failure to hear from LDP. He thinks it is ridiculous that I have one date in seven months. He says I need to put myself out there more. He says my problem is that I am very attractive, but I lack confidence (he is brilliant). I realize my lack of confidence and I'm sure it is rooted in some deep issues that will not be resolved in a day. We talked about his date - it had to be rescheduled because she had to take a friend to the ER. She is 23. I immediately roll my eyes and make a groan. Really?! Why do men my age date these young girls? As much as they seem to have their life together most will still be immature compared to a single and fabulous girl in her 30's such as myself. I digress. We continued on with chatting and had another drink. When we were both feeling good from our drinks he told me that he has found me attractive since the day we met and would like to take me out on a date. He says he goes out a lot, but it is getting old and he is ready to settle down. He sensed my hesitation. He reminded me of the things we have in common, both Catholic (this is a big thing he says), we both watch Jersey Shore (our silliness), we lean towards the same political persuasion, and we are both professional. He's right I think. He has big biceps, a job and no kids. He kind of meets my requirements. I am still not convinced...he is T-pilots friend. How would he fit in with my friends and family? Hmmmm. I've seen pictures of girls he has gone out with. They are cute girls, some I would even describe as hot Latina women. I'm judging here...but it seems like he likes arm candy. Could I be arm candy?? He rates Eva Mendes as a 10. Maybe my sparkling personality will outweigh the fact that I am not a hot Latina woman. Hmmm I am enjoying his company. He said don't judge a book by its cover. He gets a text from his friends. They are in line at the club and he needs to get there. He says I should go to, but I would never ever go to a club in denim capris!!!!  I'm kind of overruled and end up going. We get a drink inside, chat and start dancing. I might be getting a little tipsy, more dancing...uh oh getting more tipsy. I know what you are all thinking. Stop judging. You know most of you have been there where you drink just a little bit too much and randomly kiss someone that maybe you wouldn't normally (RMO shout out to my K-Falls girls!). By 1:00 a.m. I am ready to go as I have drank too much and need to go to bed. Book takes my hand and gets me in a cab home. He says he will come get me tomorrow to get my car.

I have a bit of a slow start the next day but Book comes and picks me up when I text him. We have normal conversation in the car and when he drops me off at my car. He says "So are we going to go out?" I am so lame. I am still confused. I don't know if I should. I am judging. I know this Book's cover. It has pretty colors. I even have read the paragraphs on the back of the book...do I want to start reading the first page? I told him I would think about it. I realize that is not fair. He knows that part of my hesitation is T-pilot. I know Book's basics, it would be like starting on a third date. Obviously I am already comfortable around him as he started out a friend. Hmmmm shall I start reading this Book? (Don't you love all my smartly placed puns) I suppose it wouldn't hurt. Stay tuned for the first chapter...

In other possible dating news I have a coworker/friend who is a runner. I must say I don't understand these marathon runners. I ran two miles a week ago and was sore for two days. A bug flew in my mouth. Seriously where is the joy in this. Anyway her running partner last week is single. He has a job! He has no kids! He has a dog dying of cancer. Sadness. She wonders how he is still single and mentions she has someone she could set him up with. He is game. His dating requirement...be a good speller. I'm a good speller! I play Words with Friends! I was in a Spelling Bee in fourth grade! So maybe I teared up when I failed out because I misspelled raccoon. Stupid word. Who knew it had two "C's." Is the second one really necessary?? So aside from some typos from my speedy typing I'd say I can spell decently. Just remind me not to ever write him. She is going to speak to him this weekend and set something up for us next week. Blind Date!

Keep thinking happy dating thoughts for me. Until next time...

Crash and Burn...

I left you last time with the scenario of my texting situation with LDP. I let him know my availability for a potential second date...apparently that was a huge turn off because I have gotten no response. Really?? Did this just happen again!? It has been over a week and I don't expect to hear from this stupid man again. I kind of thought being on a dating website meant you wanted to date with the intentions of finding a relationship. Silly me.

After a month of online dating, going on one great date that will just have to satisfy my dating quota for the year, and being no closer to meeting the man of my dreams, I am kind of over it already. Its hard to maintain optimism when negative things continue to happen. I realize it is not me, its them and all those nice things you say to someone who is single and can't obtain a second date. I don't have a desire to "put myself out there" if I just keep going down in flames.

The selection on this dating site is just blah. Seriously where are the responsible professional men with their life together who are looking for a potential relationship? Not here.

Some might say I am emotionally damaged. I might not disagree.

Keep thinking happy dating thoughts for me. Until next time...

Last Friday Night...

I had a real life date!! That's right ladies and gentlemen my first date in 7 months. This is quite the event. I was emailed by him on the dating site. His first email was upbeat and showed that he had actually read my profile because he asked me specific questions relating to what I had said. Always a plus instead of getting the cut and paste email "Hey beautiful, I like your profile, if you like mine let's chat." I hate those emails and do not respond to them. Anyway we corresponded for two weeks, I learned the basics, he has a job and no kids...stay tuned to if he beats me, he does not have big biceps. He is active, optimistic and appears outgoing. Just the kind of guy I need. After two weeks he suggested we meet for a drink. Well since drinking wine is one of my favorite past times to do on days that end in "y," I agreed. We were going to meet at this wine store/bar that has daily wine tastings. Perfect. So I had two days to find the perfect first date outfit. Since my last date was when there was snow on the ground obviously everything in my closet would be out of style! Plus I have lost 17 pounds and I kind of want to show that off and not wear something frumpy in my closet. So I hit up my regular stores. I was looking for a look that portrayed breezy effortless fabulousness. No problem, right? I found nothing. As a last resort I went to store that caters more toward the teens and early 20's. The clothes I tried on made it clear that they were not meant to be worn by anyone with hips or boobs...or over 4'11" for that matter as everything was super short and smushed down my boobs. I have been relegated back to my closet. I'll just have to make it work.

Friday (July 8)...I have to work, I don't typically work on Fridays, but I am putting in five hours. The perfect amount of time to go get my nails done after work and plenty of time to get ready. I am actually excited. So we are busy at work and my supervisor says I have the option of staying longer if I wanted...hell no, I must prepare for first date in seven months!! I have an outfit in mind so I get my nails done and jump in the shower. I take a little extra time with my makeup and curl my hair. I am going for casual with a hint of glam. Shimmer eye shadow with extra mascara, but not a heavy look. I wear denim capris and a white empire wasted tank top with a crocheted back. It is scoop neck with some embroidery at the hemline. It is not exactly what I wanted because it is loose fitting and I didn't want to add extra bulk to my frame, but I really have no other options. I wear my diamond circled necklace with dangly circle earrings and a big ring to remind me how fabulous I am (I learned that in Weight Watchers). I slip into my strappy sandals and head for the door. I am running on time. I am now nervous. I haven't done this in a long time! So I repeat my pre-date mantra Strong, Confident, Woman (also known as SCW). My self affirmation is making the butterflies dissipate. Don't laugh. It works. Then I pull up to the wine bar and I'm suddenly nervous again. Give myself one more SCW for the road and head inside. I look around...the bar is full. I don't see him. I look to my left and he is sitting at a bistro table by the big floor to ceiling window. He sees me. I smile and he stands. He gives me a hug and is immediately friendly. I am still a little nervous. He does not look exactly like his pictures, but this is okay because he is not unattractive. I kind of wonder if people think I look like my pictures. Hmmmm. Anyway it struck me that he reminds me of Lou Diamond Phillips. So we will call him LDP. We chat for just a little bit before looking at the wine tasting menu. I decide on the Chardonnay flights and he gets the Merlot. He is half Filipino, 31, degree in Finance (my mom will love that), has a younger brother and a dog. We got our wine and it was quite a delightful time. I was beginning to relax and really enjoy my time. We had good conversation and bantered well with each other. The next thing I know it is dark outside and it is 9:30. We have been sitting there for three hours! The time flew by. He told me that he had actually made plans to meet with friends around 8 because he wasn't sure how long he would be. He said he could feel his phone buzzing for the last hour. I wouldn't have known because he never made one move toward his pocket. I appreciated that. So we ended the date and walked outside. He said he had a good time and wanted to do it again. He gave me a hug and said he would text me. I left the date thinking he just might be perfect for me.

My post date high lasted until I got off work Monday. I haven't heard from him. I'm slightly confused. I thought he had a good time? My guy friend said I should hear from him Tues or Wed. Okay I can wait, but if I don't hear from him I think I will go ahead and ask him to do something Friday because I had too good of a time not to give it a shot. My confidence is down even more by Wednesday morning. I send a text Wednesday afternoon asking how things were going and if he wanted to get together Friday. I got no response. Thursday morning my confidence is about a -2. Did I totally misread the date, did I make up the conversation where he said he had a good time and wanted to do it again? I don't want to keep going on good dates and never hearing from the men again. I just can't keep doing that to myself. 23 hours after I sent the text I got a response. Funny all the thoughts that went through my head in 23 hours. He says he is playing golf with his dad on Friday and it would probably have to be next week because his weekend is jam packed.  He asked how things were with me. I texted back a couple sentences and then suggested next Friday. No response...24 hours later I got a text. So apparently he is on a 24 hour turn around time on texts. Okay. Says he can't next Friday he is playing in a golf tournament that starts that day and asked about sometime during the week. I told him my work shift varies, but that I would be off at 4:30 on Thursday, but the following week I am working nights. Still waiting for a response...if it is 24 hour turn around time I should be getting one in about 15 minutes.

Initially I was very put off by this texting situation, especially when a guy friend of mine says he personally does doesn't respond to girls' texts because it keeps them interested. I think it is mean. On the other hand he does still sound like he wants to go out. So if the worst thing about him is slow text turn around, I can live with that. Stay tuned on LDP...

In other eligible bachelor news...there is none. These dating profiles are just so lackluster and I have very low motivation to put myself into a get to know you situation with someone that really does not spark my interest. My profile has been look at 612 times - that is a lot of eligible men, right? Hmm not so much. The few profiles that I have winked at have ignored it. I know I have mentioned this before, but it is just way to easy to be judgmental when looking at someones profile, maybe if I met some of these men randomly in life I wouldn't dismiss them, but online it is just too easy. I'm a bitch, but do I really respond to someone whose headline is "I love puppies, but I HATE small dogs." Um, I have a small dog and I have a picture of her on my profile so if I were him I would have changed that before emailing me.

Keep thinking happy dating thoughts for me...until next time.

Solo Vacation...Do or Don't?

DO! I had a great time in San Diego even though I was by myself the entire time. I have lived alone for the last 10 years and so I know how to be alone and entertain myself. It was nice to just get out of town and have no responsibilities. I only had to worry about pleasing myself.

What I learned on my solo vacation to San Diego:
1. Omni Hotel - nice accommodations with a great location to the Gaslamp Quarter and views of the bay.
2. Gaslamp Quarter is pretty much the best place to just walk along the street and pick a place to eat. Dining is outside and a great source for people watching.
3. Hostesses do not know what to do with a single diner.
4. Hostesses need to greet customers not just stand there and stare at them when they approach.
5. "Hi are you meeting someone?" is annoying no matter what town you are in when you are dining alone.
6. "What?" is not an appropriate response to "Hi, I would like to eat please." (Happened to me twice)
7. Yogurt Beach kicks Pinkberry's frozen yogurt's ass in a second!
8. 73 degrees is perfect laying by the pool weather.
9. Rum and Cokes taste so much better when served to you poolside.
10. Hard Rock Hotel pool screams party and sex. I felt out of place. My pool was closed one day because at a wedding that had taken place the day before someone had thrown glass in the pool. Super mature. So we had pool privileges across the street at Hard Rock. First off the pool area was much smaller. Second there were no lounge chairs. They were lounge beds! They were about the size of a double bed and I was kind of like, uhhhh. They were all occupied so I had to sit on like a love seat thing. This was not cool. Plus I was about 10 years older than everyone there. The waitress basically ignored me and I had to go to the bar myself to get my drink and walk along in my bikini next to all these super skinny 22 year olds. Not awesome. I wanted my pool back. STAT.
11. I hate public transportation. It took me an hour to go 4 miles to the zoo.
12. San Diego Zoo is fun no matter what age you are.
13. Children are a huge hindrance at the zoo.
14. Drinking wine with lunch at 11:30 while others are ordering breakfast can make you feel like a lush for about 30 seconds.
15. Ordering food poolside is just as cool as drinking poolside.
16. I hate feather pillows.
17. I couldn't sleep in on vacation.
18. The airport bar might be the friendliest place on earth.
19. I'm fabulous.

Overall I would say my first solo vacation was a success. No one was whining or bored. I was on my own schedule and could do whatever I wanted without having to worry if others were having a good time as well. On the other hand I did not venture out after 9 pm because I wasn't quite ready to do a bar scene by myself, so in return the only people I spoke to were in the service industry. No young professional men approached me as I dined alone and asked me to join them. In fact no man spoke to me at all, unless you count the homeless man who said he liked my earrings. I think this trip made me more comfortable with single status and doing things alone. I felt empowered and I was happy the entire time. The fact I was by myself didn't really resonate that much - except with the stupid hostesses. Do I want every vacation to be by myself, no, but I would not be opposed to doing it again. So now that I have an absolute comfortableness with singledom I am really ready to put an effort into dating. So I have done the unthinkable and joined another dating site. Gasp! So please readers think happy thoughts of maybe, just maybe this time I will meet a nice man!

Still Here...and Still Single

I feel like I have abandoned my happy little followers. I apologize. I wish I had exciting dates to tell you of. I have nothing. I have refrained from blogging because as I have previously expressed I did not intend to complain about singledom all the time. I wanted this to be a fun outlet for the always entertaining, but not always for the one experiencing it, dating world. I haven't had a date in over six months, I haven't had a consecutive date with a gentleman in one year - yup you read that correctly. I don't even have any fun encounters with men to tell you about. I have nothing...in more ways than one. I do plan to keep you apprised of any special or un-special dates I have. Until then keep good thoughts for me to meet a nice man in your head...I am after all 32 and need all the help I can get. I am going on a vacation by myself in six days. I am bound to have something to tell you in a couple weeks...

Time after Time

In my last blog I listed the men I have met in Reno...well I forgot 3!! Each time I remembered one of these dates it was while I was driving. I think my mind just completely wanders and goes blank when I drive and therefore random things pop into my head. So I must add to my list, so sad...

30. Car salesman. I saw a Lexus billboard and it popped into my head, "OMG I went out with a Lexus car dealer!" So I met this guy off a website. He had gained quite a bit of weight than his picture showed. Met him for drinks and we went to a casino. He was nice, but I felt like he was showing off way too much. I would have gone out with him again just to see if I was interested, but literally the next time I heard from him I was on a date with Mateo. Clearly I made the wrong choice. Just stats: white, can't remember if he had a college degree, no kids.
31. Jemarcus. Met him through a friend. Handsome, well spoken, good job, perfect on paper! I wanted this to work. He picked me up for dinner. Fancy restaurant. Talked about himself and the people he knew the entire time. Oh and he kept talking about his ex. This was getting a little miserable, but I kept trying. Took me back to meet the chef after dinner. We went bowling. By the end of the night as much as I wanted to like him I was becoming more and more disenchanted with him. I don't care about status and who you know and about climbing to the top of every social system in the world. I did give it another chance and invited him to a party at my house. He monopolized my time with all the great advances he was making and the people he knew. I was over it. Too bad. Just stats: black, college educated, no kids.
32. Justin. He lived about an hour away up in Tahoe. Met off dating site. Drove up there for our first date. Dinner by Lake Tahoe. It was actually quite a lovely evening. I think we both had a good time. He had traveled quite a bit for work and loved dogs. Not sure if I was attracted to him. Second date he came down to Reno and we went to sushi. Not as good as first date. It felt like too much effort to make conversation the second date. He texted me on his drive home, but never heard from him again. I was not disappointed. Just stats: white, college educated, no kids.

10 days ago, on Saturday evening, I actually had plans to go to a going away party for a friend moving for love...not the potential for meeting a love, but her actual love. I am very happy for her. Happy for anyone who can find a wonderful man to spend their life with in this world of total scuzzers. The party was at a local brew house that is a favorite among many, but not really me. I don't drink beer and there are never any cute boys. Really what are my priorities here? I was attending with my good friends (who just got engaged) and we did not plan to be out late. My going away friend is a marathon runner, so many other runners were there - not exactly people I have a lot in common with. I would only run if an ax murder were chasing me...or if I was desperately trying to get to the frozen yogurt place before it closed. So my outfit for the night was a gray leopard print tank, black leggings, knee high boots. I thought I looked cute. I don't get out much so I had to dress up a little. I was very thirst when we arrived (must have had too much salt with dinner) so I just started myself out with a club soda and lime. I always think I'm a little socially awkward in big group settings. I don't talk well to strangers and tend to stick by people I know. I thought I caught a glimpse of a cute boy...but he was sitting at a table full of ladies...he must be with one of them. I was talking with a couple of friends when this aforementioned cute boy approached with a beer in his hand. My friend introduced him. Antonio (I guess he would be guy number 33, geesh). He and I proceeded to chat and I did my best...even though I did not have any alcohol yet. He offered to buy me a drink and so we went and sat at the bar. I felt like we had a pretty good get to know you session. He is a marathon runner as well, 28, no kids and has a job. I guess he meets the basic requirements. He gets bonus points for being Italian (not Jersey Shore Italian), Catholic, having a dog and watching The Bachelor. He seemed like a pretty nice guy, didn't get any douchey vibes from him and we moved on to the next bar with the group that had dwindled to just the close friends of the going away girl. Antonio does not typically drink, he told me this, as well as did two of his friends. He may have drank too much and started to get a little sloppy, but we still maintained a good time and he told me he felt a "connection." I wanted to giggle for the mere fact that is said WAY too much on The Bachelor show and I make fun of it. Oh well I actually kind of felt one too. I gave him my phone number and got him safely into the car of his roommate who came to pick him up. The next day I did get a message from him saying it was nice meeting me and hanging out, we small chatted through text a bit and I suggested if he wanted to hang out again all he had to do was ask and he said yes he needed to start seeing some movies. I took that as he would want to go to the movies with me as we had talked about how much I go to the movies and he doesn't. He was running a marathon this past weekend. I texted him last Thursday, told him good luck and have fun, blah blah. He did respond, but did not respond to my Sunday night text asking how the race went. I was excited for about five minutes about this guy.

I feel like all I do is whine to you on this blog. This was not my intention. I wanted to be able to tell everyone that I had a date and I was excited...but as you can see, I just don't. On the radio this morning a discussion was taking place about dating and how men are starting to fall down on the game a little bit more because they know that women are going to do the follow up. That women are going to be the ones making the phone call or doing the follow up texts and the women have begun to do this because they are tired of waiting. Hmmmm sounds vaguely familiar. The problem is I don't want to be aggressive and I don't want to be desperate. What is the happy medium? I thought all signs pointed toward a date and I guess I can't rule it out. I can make all the logical excuses, he's busy, he's working, he's been out of town, but I know the reality - if a guy is interested he is going to let you know. Not quite ready to close the book on this one or maybe I just don't want to because I haven't had a date in five months. I am surrounded by happy people in love. I am attending a wedding this week (my sister is my date), my super good friend just got engaged and I literally have no single friends in this town. Sure I have single acquaintances, but no good friends that I could go on the prowl with like the little pumas we are. One day I will reach couple status...right?! I need some excitement in my life.

First Dates...How Many is Too Many?

Hello Everyone! I know it has been a little while since my last post, I wish I could tell you it was because I have been going on fantastic dates, but I can't! I am having to face a new reality...Reno without my sister. She is moving to South Carolina for a job and it just so happens that is where our other sister lives as well. I am now faced with the thoughts of what is keeping me here in Reno? Well first off my job - I truly like my job. Second would be my friends - I do have some special people in my life. Third would be the fact I own a home here and fourth would be that Reno really is a great place to live. However, after four years I remain single...when I first moved to Reno I thought I would give it a good five years. I never for once thought I would be on the down slope toward that fifth year with no relationship or even the prospect of one. I have gone on lots of dates and part of me is thinking that maybe Reno is not the place I am going to meet Mr. Wonderful. The scary idea of moving has entered my mind. Is it pathetic to move someplace because you haven't met a man...I will say it - yes. On the other hand I still have a whole year left in Reno - maybe this will be the best year of my life. Maybe. I am going to be 32 in just a mere 42 days. I know that 32 is not "old," but I am also not exactly where I thought I would be at 32 and how long do I wait before I try and create the life I want. I do not want to grow old alone. I really am not even looking for marriage...just a man who I want to date, a man that wants to date me, and someone I could see the possibility of a relationship.

I believe I have given the Reno dating a scene a good solid "A" for effort. I have done all the possible dating websites and gone out to bars/clubs. I am going to attempt to compile a list for your amusement of the dates I have had in the almost four years of living in Reno. This list will include dates I've gone on and people I have met, but a date never materialized, and honestly I do not remember everyones name! Here goes...

1. John the Boxer. Hot. Big biceps. Tattoos. Shaved head. "Divorced." 2 year old son. I dated him for a couple weeks. This included going to watch him box. Hot. He disappeared - got back together with his wife and joined the military.
2. Braden. Pretty boy drug rep. Studio apartment with a Murphy bed. Enough said.
3. Damario (Hispanic). Adorable smile. One date. Many conversations later we never had another date. He started seeing a girl, who was "just a friend" he had known since high school. I actually saw them out last night. Ugh.
4. Guy who slammed his keys on the table when he sat down. We made last minute plans to meet for ice cream. I met him on a dating site. He had two kids. He literally came in, slammed his keys down and did not even smile. I was like, wow this is so not going to go anywhere. Was he disappointed with what he saw? I will never know.
5. Damario (black). Went bowling and dinner on our first date. Had a good time. He was nice, but on the shy side. Had three dates. Kissed on the third and I think neither one of us felt a spark. He introduced me to some guy friends I still have to this day.
6. Chad. Military guy who was just going to be in Reno for his two week leave. He clearly was looking for a wife to take back to Spain. Nice enough guy, but not what I wanted.
7. Josh. Super outdoor boy as previously described in my Valentine's Day blog.
8. Mateo. Guy I was actually in love with, also previously described in Valentine's Day blog. We just clicked. Got attached to his 3 year old daughter. Broke my heart. Never again.
9. Drake. Met him in North Carolina on vacation (so maybe he doesn't count).
10. Rachman. Most beautiful man I have ever seen. After several encounters it was clear his beauty was only skin deep. Met him at a club. Someday I will have to tell you the full story of this man. My last date with him will go down in my history as worst date ever.
11. Brad. Met him through black Damario. He lives in Vegas. Had a great first date. Said he wanted another one (as he comes to Reno frequently). He started seeing someone and I didn't hear from him for a very long time. Ended up seeing him once in Vegas for a non-date that included sushi dinner and Circque du Soleil show. Good time. Haven't spoken to him since.
12. Nigel. Met him in the grocery story. He had two teenage children who lived in another state. He had a good job. Zero attraction. He sent me a text about the recall of Lean Cuisines. I did not go out with him again.
13. Brae. Age appropriate. Good job. Divorced. No kids. Met for dinner. Had a few follow up texts, but did not respond to my inquiry about a second date. Got a text from him not that long ago - thought I was a differed Aimee. Awesome.
14. Cevin with a C. As previously described in last blog. Douche bag.
15. Raul. As previously described - Guy I see at the gym and want to throw my water bottle at.
16. Crazy Guy From Santa Crawl. Previously described as man who didn't remember me on POF.
17. Damon. Only had one picture on his dating profile. Had eight St. Bernard dogs. Went on two dates with him. Zero attraction. Said he had an "infectious" laugh. I found it to be rather annoying.
18. Feminine guy. Soft spoken and flung his hands around when he talked. I knew the moment he said hello that I would not have another date with him. Met him off dating website. I was on call the night we went out and throughout the whole dinner I prayed my phone would ring. It finally did and I got out of it!
19. Manuel. Cute. 2 boys. Said he was 5'8" - yeah maybe with his arms outstretched above his head. Had an okay dinner except he tended to stare at me while I ate. Felt awkward. No additional dates, but I considered it.
20. Phil (black). Super cute. Met him at the club and he was very respectful. Went out to dinner and movie with him. He was a lot younger than me. Texted me after date to say what a great time he had and he looked forward to the next time. Saw him one more time. Disappeared and then randomly heard from him. Said a friend died. Okay. Made future plans that ended up never happening.
21. Phil (white). Douche bag. I liked this guy. We had a few dates over a couple weeks time. Disappeared and randomly heard from him about a month later. He stated he started a second job and that is why I didn't hear from him. Not okay. Did not see him again.
22. Mark. Guy I met in the club and sat and talked with for an hour. He texted me a couple days later to say that he has to confess that he lied about everything. WTF. He still wanted to go on a date. Um no.
23. James. Coworkers brother in law. Cute. Quiet. One night out. Never called.
24. Shy Scott. Met him for coffee of dating website. It was a pleasant date. Not sure if I was attracted to him. He does aerobatics. Hmmm. He told me if I wanted to go out again to let him know. We did not have another date.
25. Jazzy Jason. This guy was fun. He was chatty. Called me every day. He was a teacher. Went on several dates. He had a 4 year old. Soon our conversations surrounded his son and his crazy mom. Just the kind of thing I don't want to be involved in. I went out of town for a week...never saw him again.
26. Clint. As previously described - guy I thought must have died because that was how bizarre it was.
27. Plenty of Fish Guy. Well that just fizzled out. I think too much time had passed.
28. T - pilot. Never going to see again. Over it. Kind of.
29. Club Guy. He is so random! I got a voicemail from him last week. Not going to go on a date with him. Ever.

So I think that covers it. I may have missed some, but obviously they were not that important. This list also does not include the countless men I have corresponded with on dating websites only to have nothing come of it. I also think I date a variety of people when it comes to race, education, children, and age. 15 of these dates were with White men, 8 Black, 4 Hispanic, and one was half Asian. 9 of these men had children and more than half did not have college degrees. I am a firm believer that you never know who will connect with and if you ask me out I will generally go on at least one date. This seems like a lot of first dates in just under four years. I don't know maybe it is not, but its a little depressing to see that I did not find someone to have a relationship with out of 28 men (minus Mateo).

Tell me readers...would you move for the possibility of finding love...and where would you go?

Until next time...

"The key to successful aging is to pay as little attention to it as possible."

Last night I went to my friend's 30th birthday celebration. How is it possible I will be 32 in two months? Are we really aging? My "young" friends are starting to turn 30, my sister is 30...WTF is going on. I remember when I was in high school thinking that I would be married by 22 with my first child at 24 - because that was, well, old. Wow was I wrong and I'm glad that I was, but now that 32 approaches I definitely thought I would at least be dating someone by now. Its been more than two years since I've been in a relationship. Kind of makes you start to wonder what it is about me that is repelling nice men and attracting jerky men. Obviously my approach to dating is not working and I might have to start taking drastic measures. I was having a conversation with my friend, Double Dose of Chocolate Chin Pimp (and yes that is his real name), after I heard a radio interview with J-Woww from Jersey Shore on the dating book she wrote. I don't know if any of my wonderful followers have watched the train wreck that is the Jersey Shore, but it is pure trash and I love it. Basically it is overly tan grown adults who party too much and make stupid decisions. Fabulousness. The title of J-Woww's book is "The Rules According to JWOWW: Shore-Tested Secrets on Landing a Mint Guy, Staying Fresh to Death, and Kicking the Competition to the Curb." Um how can I not get this book?? Well I was discussing with Double Dose of Chocolate Chin Pimp that if I reach 32 with no prospective daters I should get the book and follow it for one year...just to see what can happen. He thinks it is a fantastic idea, as a fellow Jersey Shore lover, how could it go wrong? Of course her opening statement in the show is "After I have sex with a man I rip their head off," so it could be a very interesting year. Obviously I would have to get breast implants, hair extensions and have a year round tan so I can "kick my competition to the curb."

So back to last night. We were at a local nice restaurant that had a bar with live music as well that later turned in to DJ like music. We were sitting at the bar and the "dance floor" was just up the stairs and we had a perfect view of the late 30 something women dancing like fools. These women looked obviously mommish and all I could think was "OMG that is going to be me in a few years!" I try not to think about my age as I do not feel "old" but I feel like I am constantly reminded that I am getting older and even if I don't look it now...who knows what wrinkles and sagging could be in my future. There really were not any young approachable men that I could practice my social skills on, but then I did a double take as I saw someone who reminded me of T-pilot. Maybe it was a mirage. Nope - same dance moves, same hair, but obviously not nearly as good looking. Not him. I probably just subconsciously wanted to see him. Pathetic. Move on.

With the 30th birthday celebrations last night I am reminded of my 30th. Let us take a walk down memory lane. I was turning 30 and was going to Mexico with my best friend. I had never been to Mexico and thought what better time to go than when I turn 30!! Super excited. Then swine flu hit. Ooops I mean H1N1. Travel to Mexico was not recommended and discouraged. I changed my trip to October - five months AFTER my 30th birthday. So what exciting things would I do as I turn 30 and fabulous? I went to my friends wedding...the one whose birthday it was last night. Nothing like making me feel single and unfabulous than attending a wedding on my 30th birthday...without a date. Fortunately I had a lovely time at the wedding, she looked beautiful, the food was great and we went dancing in Tahoe after. Overall not a horrible 30th birthday. I had gone on a couple of dates with Cevin, that is right, Cevin with a "C" when my 30th birthday rolled around. He actually was the first one to call me and wish me a happy birthday. I appreciated that and we planned to get together after my wedding weekend in Tahoe. In total I went on five dates with Cevin and he never kissed me...just not that into me? Textbook, right! On date three I had him over for dinner and he brought a movie - Marley and Me. What kind of date movie is that?! I had already seen it and knew the sobbing tears that came out of my eyes would not be a very good mood set if I wanted a first kiss. We sat close on the couch, but no hand holding. Nothing. So sad part of movie and I am staring off into space trying not to think about the awfulness. I am not a cute crier. My eyes stay red and puffy for a long time. No fair. He leaves after the movie because he "has to work in the morning," gave me a hug and said he would give me a kiss, but he had a cold sore. I did not see said cold sore...maybe it was on the inside of his lip. So I am sure you are wondering how did things end with Cevin. One Saturday we were to have a dinner date after he got off work and after I was done wine walking (fabulous event). I talked to him on my way home and he said he wasn't up for going out to eat, but would come over and we could watch a movie after he went home and changed. He did not come over. He did not call me. He did not text me. He fell off the face of the earth! How is this possible? How can someone be so inconsiderate?? Well apparently this happens to me. I did text him and got no response. A few weeks later I texted him to ask how things were going...being breezy and maybe try and find out what happened. His response, "who is this?" Awesome. I responded with who I was and he called, but apparently had not gotten the text yet of who I was because when I said who I was he paused and was like "Oh hey, how are you?" I'm sure he was thinking shit, why did I just call a number I didn't know. We made small talk for a few minutes and I said I just was wondering what had happened and why I hadn't heard from him. He said he just was not really ready for a relationship. WTF I met him on eharmony...a fucking dating site...and I'm sorry did five dates with a girl that you did not even kiss constitute a relationship? No. Did I push for anything? Not even remotely. Fucker.

So that lovely story about Cevin reminds me of another dating experience with Clint. I met Clint last summer just after the 4th of July. We met through match. Do you see a theme here? Too many dating sites. As I write about it and all the ones I have tried I cannot help that it makes me sound desperate, which I do not like to think of myself as! I just want to meet a nice man...somehow. Clint and I met for drinks and I was just getting over a cold. When I first saw him my initial thought was, phew, he looked normal. As soon as I sat down my bra strap broke! After a few niceties I excused myself to run to the bathroom to fix my bra. While I was in there I couldn't help but wonder if he thought I was ditching him. That would have been kind of hilarious if I had, but my first five minutes with him had been good. We ended up having a good date. He told me that he would like to see me again and even gave me some compliments. He was not a typical pick for me as he had blond hair and blue eyes, but he was cute. He has a college degree and works as an engineer for one of the local casinos. He also happened to live about 3 miles down the road from me in his own home. Perfect! A real live grown up! I saw him two days later for a movie at his house. I made a chocolate mousse. I am a fabulous dessert chef if I do say so myself. So of course I had to try and reveal a little taste of how wonderful it would be to have me around. Clint had a very nice home and showed me his projects. I liked how it made him manly and I knew he would be useful to have around a house (it takes me hours to hang a picture). He had a theater room. Fabulous! We watched a dumb movie, had some mousse and then shared our love of the Jersey Shore. I then knew I wanted a third date. He was easy to be around and called me out on being nervous and shy. We had our first kiss. I could like this guy. For our third date we went hiking in Tahoe. The plan was to hike down to this private little area on the lake that my friend had told me about. Well we didn't quite find it and ended up hiking through bushes. I had scratches all over my poor legs. He had packed us a lunch. It was actually kind of cute. So by the time we made it back to the car we were both hot and sweaty. Not really a romantic time. We went to the beach and cooled off in the water. Yes I was in my bathing suit on a third date! My mom and sister were both horrified. But really if seeing me in a bathing suit made him not want to see me again then he is not worth my time, right? He is affectionate in front of the other beach goers. On our way back to Reno we talked a lot and discussed my shyness and my not very affectionate personality. We talked about how so often I would date people and just never hear from them again and how all I wanted was for once someone to just be honest. If you don't want to see me again that is fine, just say so, don't disappear. He said that was surprising that men did that and he would never do such a thing. I could be honest with him and I felt like we definitely had another date in the future. We did. I continued to see him for 3.5 weeks about three times a week. He met my sister at a barbecue I had. No one has met my sister in two years. This was a kind of a big deal. My sister also does not typically like the men I date. She was indifferent about Clint. Hmmmm what does that mean? I on the other hand was actually starting to really like him. He kind of won me over when he suggested that we dress up for the Jersey Shore premiere of the second season and he would cook dinner. I found someone who could be silly with me. I dressed as Snooki.

One Wednesday he was over and my best friend from Portland was coming for a long weekend the next day. I told him I wouldn't see him for a few days as my friend would be there and his mom was actually going to be there later in the weekend. He kind of pouted and was like well I could have dinner with you guys. I checked with my friend the next day to see if that was okay. We ended up going to sushi Friday night. My friend was actually kind of indifferent about him as well. What was I not seeing? We got along, he was cute, he was a professional, I had fun with him. He talked about us doing stuff - like taking a day trip down to Sacramento. Hmmmmm. He gave me a hug and a kiss when we left...in front of my friend. Little did I know that would be the last I ever saw of him. Saturday night we texted and he said he wished he was there with me. We had talked about going to a local minor league baseball game. My friends wanted to go Tuesday so I texted him on Sunday to ask if he wanted to go and say that I hoped he was having a good time with his mom. His mom was in town because she had a doctor's appointment on Monday. I never heard from him. I was thoroughly confused. I called him, but got nothing. That Friday I went to my cousins wedding in Lake Tahoe. I still had not heard from him. I genuinely thought something had happened to him or his mom. I mean why else would I not have heard from him? The last thing he said to me was that he wished he was with me. I called him and asked if everything was okay with his mom and just to let me know that he was okay. By the end of the weekend I was at a loss. I was even contemplating stopping by his house to see if everything was okay that is how odd I found this situation. We were facebook friends and he had even posted a picture of us on his facebook. I checked his facebook. Our picture was still up and he had no recent posts. I would wait another day...facebook stalked him and saw that a friend had posted that she, her husband, and their kids had a good time at the park that day with him. My heart literally dropped into my stomach. I was completely shocked. In fact I hate even thinking about it now because it brings back how awful that feeling was. After he specifically told me he would not do such a thing he does exactly what all the other douche bags have done. Disappear. With no reason.

A couple days later I worked up the nerve to make a phone call to him. He of course did not answer. What I basically said was, you told me you would always be honest with me and all I want to know is what happened, that I didn't expect a phone call, but to at least text me what went wrong. The next day I got a text from him saying he was sorry, he knew it wasn't going to go anywhere with me and he didn't know how to talk about it. This saddened me. That was an obvious answer - I wanted to know what it was...I really would like to know if I am doing something that freaks men out that sends them running to never hear from them again. Maybe someday someone will have the balls to tell me. Until then I shall date...if I can find anyone to date!

On a side note, several people have asked about getting an email when I have a new blog. I would be happy to send a mass email every time I create a fabulous new blog. Just email me at datecrydrink@gmail.com that way whether you are an active follower or a private follower you will get all my updates.

Until next time...
